Austin based developer responsible for projects like Barton Place Condos, The W Residences and Cole Apartments, BOKA Powell announced it will develop a new 4 acre tract of land on South Lamar just south of Lady Bird Lake. The project is slated to open on Spring of 2013 and will have 280,000 sq ft of space and 302 apartments. The complex will be comprised of four buildings, each 5-11 stories high.
Mixed Use Projects Will Continue to Be Popular
Because of the lack of land in 78704 and the popularity of “live, work, play” developments, it would make sense these types of complexes pop up around the area. With only 4 acres of prime real estate, this development will be able to house as many people as an 80 acre single family home development.
RiverView Development and Site Improvements
The development has been named RiverView and will add improvements to the Barton Creek Hike and Bike Trail. As the Boardwalk Trail (waterfront development along Lake Austin) is built, RiverView will have public access, making it an especially attractive development for someone looking for walkability.
RiverView is Going Green
The developers have taken steps to ensure RiverView will have as little an impact on the environment as possible. Inside, they’ll have water-saving plumbing fixtures, use local and recycled materials when building and have preferred parking for fuel efficient vehicles. Parking for residents and shoppers will be completely underground with an unusually deep roof garden system.
